New York City Fire Department’s
Widows’ And Children’s Fund:
Ambassadors assisted host golf courses around the country in implementing a fundraising initiative in which co-workers, members and guests were invited to sign a specially designed banner in honor of the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks, in exchange for a suggested donation of $10 per signature. In all, host courses raised more than $90,000 for the New York City Fire Department’s Widows’ and Children’s Fund, supporting the families of the heroic men and women who lost their lives or were seriously injured trying to save others.

Columbine High School Principal’s Fund:
In the wake of the tragedy at Columbine High School in 1999, Ambassadors implemented a fundraising initiative and raised more than $50,000 for the Columbine High School Principal’s Fund to help the community of Littleton, Colorado heal.

Jordan & Kyra Memorial Golf Tournament:
This outstanding fundraising event has evolved into one of the country’s most successful charity golf tournaments. Charitable activities at host golf courses around the country culminate each year with this San Francisco Bay Area tournament, which benefits pediatric brain tumor research as well as care for the families of children affected by pediatric cancers through the non-profit Koret Family House. To date, Ambassadors have helped to raise more than $900,000 for these important causes.

Tiger Woods Foundation Junior Golf Clinics:
The American Golf Foundation has worked with the Tiger Woods Foundation in providing disadvantaged and at-risk kids with the opportunity to learn and play golf, as well as to benefit from the many positive life skills the game imparts: Honesty, integrity, responsibility, commitment and sportsmanship. More than 3,500 inner-city youths were invited to participate in junior golf clinics and exhibitions each year hosted by Tiger and his father, the late Earl Woods.

Kids On Course:
American Golf Foundation host golf courses nationwide actively support Kids On Course, an initiative of the United States Golf Association (USGA) aimed at making golf affordable and accessible for disadvantaged youths. At-risk kids participating in local junior golf programs have the opportunity to play a round of golf for just one dollar as well as to enjoy complimentary range balls and donated golf equipment.

National Minority Junior Golf Scholarship Association:
Throughout the year, American Golf Foundation Ambassadors assist in fundraising that provides youths who possess an interest in golf with scholarships to colleges and universities across the country.

John A. White First Tee Program:
Ambassadors in Atlanta are helping to keep the area’s youth out of the rough by assisting in activities supporting the John A. White Park Golf Center, the city’s first golf facility to be certified by The First Tee – the World Golf Foundation initiative dedicated to providing affordable golf access to anyone, regardless of socioeconomic background.

Tregnan Junior Golf Academy At Coolidge:
American Golf Foundation Ambassadors actively support fundraising efforts and junior golf activities at the Tregnan Junior Golf Academy at Coolidge in Los Angeles’ Griffith Park, the city’s first-ever golf training center devoted exclusively to youths – with an emphasis on at-risk and disadvantaged kids.

Western States Golf Association:
Ambassadors support organizations that encourage racial equality on the golf course. The Western States Golf Association (WSGA) was founded in 1954 and incorporated in 1972 in the state of California as a non-profit tax exempt corporation. The purpose of this organization is to consolidate Black Organized Golf Clubs located in the Western United States under one umbrella. WSGA currently consists of 30 member golf clubs. Members of WSGA's clubs reside in 6 states including Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, Oregon and Washington.

Women In Golf Day Benefiting The Fight Against Breast Cancer:
One of the important missions of the American Golf Foundation is to ensure that people of all ages, genders and backgrounds enjoy the game of golf. Women In Golf Day is one such initiative – a nationwide event designed to introduce women to golf in a friendly, non-intimidating environment, while at the same time raise funds for the fight against breast cancer.

Kenny Bernstein Memorial Golf & Tennis Tournament:
The American Golf Foundation helps to educate parents and caretakers on how to keep children safe by conducting the Kenny Bernstein Memorial Golf & Tennis Tournament benefiting the Chicagoland SAFE KIDS Coalition based at the University of Chicago Children’s Hospital. The event is held in honor of Kenny Bernstein of Highland Park, Illinois, who died at home after choking on some food at the tender age of 21 months.

Dennis Walters Motivational Golf Show:
The American Golf Foundation annually helps thousands of children learn about overcoming adversity by helping to stage the Dennis Walters Golf Show – a humor-filled show hosted by paraplegic golfer Dennis Walters. Dennis was a professional golfer more than 20 years ago before a golf cart accident left him a paraplegic. Since that time, he has devoted his life to motivating and inspiring others through his entertaining show.
